Ordering a Transcript
Chadron State College transcript requests can only be completed online. We do not accept requests via phone, email, or fax. Official transcripts include the last four digits of your social security number for identification by institutions or employers. If you have a hold prohibiting the release of your transcript, you must have the hold lifted by the appropriate office before the transcript request will be accepted.
Transcript Ordering Instructions
- Option 1: Current Students-Log into MyCSC, Click on Academics Tab, Transcript Services, Official Transcript Request and navigate through the form.
- Option 2: Former Students-Order through CSC’s Transcript Delivery Service.
Transcript Fees
There is a $5 fee for each transcript. If the request is for a mailed transcript, there will be additional processing charges. Once an official transcript has been processed, it cannot be canceled or refunded.
Transcript Delivery Options
There are two options to request your official transcript:
- Electronic Transcript or eTranscript: This is an electronic PDF that can be emailed to any email address. Due to shorter delivery times, electronic transcripts are the quickest method for receiving your transcript.
- Paper Transcript-Mailed: Paper transcripts can be mailed via USPS to any mailing address
Attachments can be included, if desired, with eTranscripts or Mailed copies.
Unofficial Transcripts
Unofficial Transcripts are only available to students who have access to their MyCSC account. These are available through the following navigation: Academics Tab, Transcript Services, View Unofficial Transcript. If you don’t have access to your MyCSC, you may contact the CSC IT helpdesk to activate/reactivate at helpdesk@csc.edu or 308-432-6311.

Release of Education Records for Deceased Students
Statement of Policy:
Although a student’s rights under The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act’s (FERPA) end upon their death, the decision to release the transcript of a deceased student is a matter of institutional policy. Chadron State College considers the academic records and credentials of deceased students to be confidential information. Therefore, the CSC Records Office reserves the right to deny the request in whole or to release only part of the academic records that are requested.
Chadron State College will consider records requests from immediate family members or the *estate of a deceased student. All requests must be submitted in writing with the information and documentation required below. The requester assumes the burden of proof regarding who they are and what their interest is in the academic records of the deceased student. Requests for academic records using descriptions of 'all', ‘entire’, or other similar words or phrases will be interpreted as requests for the academic transcript only.
Please provide the following information:
- Deceased student's legal name while enrolled (and all former known names, if applicable)
- Deceased student's social security number (if applicable), student ID number (if known), or other official forms of identification, i.e. passport for international students.
- Deceased student's date of birth
- Approximate dates of enrollment
- Copy or link to obituary notice
- Requester’s Name and relationship to deceased student
- Requester’s mailing address
- Requester’s preferred email address and phone number
- Documentation of the relationship of the requester to the deceased **
- Reason for the request
- Requester’s signature
Other institutional considerations:
Financial:
All financial obligations must be resolved with the business office before official transcripts are released unless the release of transcripts is court ordered or subpoenaed. A request to waive financial obligations must be made in writing to the Business Office and approved before transcripts of the deceased will be released.
CSC will provide a single copy of the student’s record at no charge.
*Executor of the Estate or Holder of Power or Attorney
If there is no living next of kin, education records may be requested by the executor of the estate or holder of power of attorney for the deceased.
