What is an online course?
Online courses are courses in which all instruction, assignments, projects, papers, quizzes and exams are completed through a virtual classroom (your personal computer!). You will actively engage in learning by communicating online to the instructor and other students.

What is the advantage of online learning?
Flexibility. Online courses can be completed anytime and anywhere you have access to a computer and internet connection. CSC online courses are delivered asynchronously, which means you do not have to be online at the same time as the instructor or other students. Online classes allow you the opportunity to learn according to your own schedule, night or day. That's right, no more taking time from your busy schedule to go to a campus and sit in a traditional classroom. Complete your course from work, at home and anywhere in between!

How do I know if I am ready for online learning?
As on online learner, you must be actively engaged in the course. You should be highly self-motivated, have good reading and writing skills, and have email and high speed internet access.

Can I complete a degree online?
Yes. Chadron State College offers several bachelor's degree completion programs and complete master's degrees, as well as many individual elective and general studies courses online.

How much do online courses cost?
All CSC online courses are offered at the same low per-credit-hour cost for both in-state and out-of-state students.

When are online courses offered?
Follow this course search tutorial to utilize CSC's Course Search. Click the small, green arrow to open the "Additional Search Criteria". In Mode of Instruction, choose Online.

Do I need a textbook for online courses?
It varies from course to course, but generally online courses require a textbook. Visit CSC's fully online bookstore to order your books two to three weeks before your class begins so that you are ready as soon as the course starts.

How will online courses appear on my transcript?
Online courses will not appear any differently on your transcript than face-to-face courses.
