The Chadron State College Nelson Physical Activity Center invites you to come and participate in our Group Fitness classes

Group Fitness classes are a great way to stay in shape and have fun in a group setting. We will offer a variety of classes that build muscle strength as well as cardiovascular endurance.

Group Fitness classes are in the NPAC Building at Chadron State College and are free with a valid EagleCard ID. IDs can be obtained through the front desk.

All classes will sign-in at the front desk.

Active Stretch- Stretching, mobility, and flexibility are grossly underrated in terms of their benefits. This class offers non-competitive, self-monitored, and is specific to your needs. We work on loosening those sore/tight muscles, opening up joints, and improving upper and lower mobility. Recovery and stress-reducing gentle movements are key in everyday life.

Bootcamp- Each class varies, but will offer training in muscular strength, endurance, plyometric, and core strength. Members keep track of their progress over time and begin to notice improvements in overall health and wellbeing! Come to this class with a positive attitude and the drive to better yourself daily!

Core- A sweet, simple, and powerful core workout to help build functional strength and aesthetic abs. Core movements paired with intermittent bursts of cardio are used to help you meet your fitness goals!

Tabata- Class involving high intensity training with short periods of training followed by even shorter recovery time. This whole body workout will push you physically and mentally, but is the best class to improve cardiovascular health and muscular endurance

Spin Class- This high intensity, low impact class is perfect for working on cardiovascular fitness while burning fat. This dynamic class is perfect for all fitness levels.

Upper HIIT- (High Intensity Interval Class) Get in a good cardio and upper body workout with this interval training class.

Zumba- Get ready to party yourself into shape! This exhilarating, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party will move YOU!

Dance-To-Fit- High intense cardio to hit music.

Class Descriptions

Bootcamp: This class gives you the best of both worlds - cardio and strength. Not to mention the added bonus of working out with other motivated individuals on a regular basis. These workouts are designed to increase strength and fitness through a number of intense group workouts including resistance and weight training, core work, stability and cardio.

Core Construction: A sweet, simple, and powerful core workout to help build functional strength and aesthetic abs. Core movements paired with intermittent bursts of cardio are used to help you meet your fitness goals.

Don’t forget the legs: A concentration on lower body training with a focus on muscular development using a combination of machines and free weights. Be ready to feel the burn.

Dynamic Destress: Dynamic stretching is all loosening up those joints and muscles in a unique way. Dynamic stretching combines movements together that pulls the muscles in an active fashion that detoxes the body. This class will keep you flexible and help with mobility and proper stabilization. Come have some fun and learn some new ways to stretch those sore muscles.

Full Body Fitness: This class is designed to strengthen and tone your whole body while burning fat and improving stamina. A fun and high energy class with lots of variety. All levels welcome.

Glute Camp: This calorie burning, strength-building class uses resistance bands, body weight and weighted exercises to shape and sculpt your best assets while building a powerful base. All skill levels are welcome.

Have a ball: Get rolling, bouncing, and stabilizing with a unique, comprehensive, impact free, and fun approach to functional fitness by using stability balls, to shape, sculpt, and strengthen your body.

HIIT Under Construction: (High Intensity Interval Class) Get in a good cardio and full body workout with this interval training class. Technically Sound: Have you ever wondered if you were doing an exercise correctly? Do you experience pain with movements performed in an exercise? Here’s a chance to learn exercises in a safe and correct manner. This class will work with light weight and resistance bands to get a feel for each exercise.

TRX: TRX suspension training is the original, best-in-class workout system that leverages gravity and body weight to perform exercises that build power and increase strength, flexibility, balance and mobility.

Upper Body Under Construction: If you’re looking to get toned or even just to get a good sweat in for 30 minutes, then this is the class for you. Upper Body Under Construction is a class that will target all muscles from the waist and above. Each class will have variation between circuit style training to hypertrophy training. Also, there will be a variation of equipment that will be used for the class such as dumbbells, resistance bands, etc.

Yoga Stretch: Yoga Stretch is designed to slightly delve into the easier points of yoga to focus on getting a good stretch, controlling your breathing, and increasing your flexibility. This class won’t be anything hard or challenging, but will grant you many chances to improve.

Zumba: Get ready to party yourself into shape. This exhilarating, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party will move you.
