MLK events affected by campus closure

CHADRON – Chadron State College will host several events honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Due to the forecast of extremely cold temperatures and wind chills, the campus will close Monday.

The annual MLK march, the Belongingness and Inclusion (B&I) Committee presentation by Dr. Kurt Kinbacher in the Student Center, and the Chadron High School Cardinal Singers performance of Hamilton have been canceled.

On Wednesday, music faculty and students will present a jazz concert at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

On Thursday, at 5 p.m. in the Chicoine Center, the campus and community are invited to watch the women’s and men’s basketball teams compete against Westminster.

Starting Jan. 13, the B&I committee will partner with the CSC Food Pantry on a food drive. Those interested in donating can place non-perishable, non-expired food items in collection boxes and wagons in Sparks Hall, Crites Hall, Old Admin, the Chicoine Center, or the Math Science Center of Innovative Learning.
