CSC announces three finalists for Vice President of Enrollment Management

CHADRON – Chadron State College has announced the names of three finalists for the Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) position.

The three VPEM finalists are Nicholas Dix, Dr. Derry Ebert, and Dr. Heidi Hoskinson. Each finalist will conduct on-campus interviews with the search committee, meet with President Ron K. Patterson and the President’s Cabinet, and present their ideas for enrollment during campus open forums.

Dix is currently the Director of Enrollment Management and the Interim Executive Director of the University of Northern Colorado’s Extended Campus. He has led enrollment management at UNC since 2023 and helped the university surpass its first-year enrollment goals by 26 percent. He also created an events team to assist with community engagement and brand awareness on campus. Dix has also served as the Assistant Director of Enrollment and an Advising and Retention Specialist at Northern-Colorado, in addition to teaching courses about campus resources and student motivation. Prior to his time at UNC, Dix was the Director of Admissions at Regis University in Denver and the Title IX Coordinator and Student Affairs Specialist at Colorado State University-Global in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

Dix has a bachelor’s degree in politics and government from Illinois State University, a master of science in management from Colorado State University, and expects to graduate from Nova Southeastern University with a doctorate in higher education leadership in August.

Ebert is currently the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services at Ivy Tech Community College in Kokomo, Indiana. He has contributed to new student enrollment growth each semester since the spring of 2021 and has successfully designed an enrollment plan to meet campus goals. Prior to Ivy Tech, Ebert was the Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing at Warner University in Florida, the Associate Vice President and Dean for Traditional Enrollment at Mid America Nazarene University in Kansas, and the Dean of Enrollment at Colorado Christian University. Ebert, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Theology and a Bachelor of Science in Specialized Ministries from Mid-American Christian University in Oklahoma City, served in a variety of roles at his alma mater. He was the Director of Recruitment and Public Relations, the Registrar and Director of Admissions, Director of Technology, Director of Financial Aid, and finally the Vice President for Student Services.

Ebert also has a Master of Science in Management from Southern Nazarene University and earned a doctorate in Ethical Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University in 2024.

Hoskinson is currently the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Bethel College in Kansas. She and her colleagues are managing a six-year run of increased enrollment and she has experience with retention, serving as Bethel’s chief retention officer. Prior to working at Bethel, Hoskinson was the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Rogers State University in Oklahoma, and the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Registrar at Friends University in Kansas for nine years before being promoted to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Additionally, Hoskinson has been the Vice President of Administration at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, the Director of Student Life and Development at Honolulu Community College in Hawaii, and the Director of Admissions and Student Services at Argosy University in Hawaii.

She has been a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission since 2022 and served as the Vice Chair of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers from 2014-18.

Hoskinson has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Fort Lewis College, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University, and a doctorate in Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
