CSC announces students accepted into RHOP

CHADRON – Chadron State College has announced students accepted into the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) pathway for Fall 2025. These students join what Dr. Joyce Hardy, Interim Dean of the School of Business, Mathematics, and Sciences, describes as a vibrant and collaborative learning community at Chadron State.
Students selected as participants in the program are awarded full-tuition scholarships, and prioritized admission to their respective programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) while students selected as alternates are offered other scholarships. All students are provided with specialized professional development opportunities with UNMC and additional mentoring.
“For more than 30 years, CSC’s collaboration with UNMC has been a successful pathway for rural students to obtain their desired health career, and most of these students return to our rural communities to help alleviate our rural shortage of health professions. This truly is a ‘win-win’ for our students and our region,” Hardy said.
Nineteen Nebraska high school students will join RHOP, a collaborative initiative between CSC and UNMC.
