Three students earn Golden Leaf awards

CHADRON – Three CSC students received Golden Leaf awards from the Northern Plains Collegiate Media Association (NPCMA) during the association’s conference at Wayne State College March 23.

Ethan Strey of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, won three awards. He placed second and third in the Best Podcast category for his audio series “CSC Sports Preview,” and third in the Best Audio Sports Pre-Game or Post-Game Show category for his “CSC Sports Preview” episode released Nov. 11, 2023.

Eben Rosentrater of Paxton, Nebraska, placed third in the association’s Best Sports Game Story category for his news story, Eagle defense crushes Rockers in season finale.

May 2023 CSC graduate Kamryn Kozisek of Kaycee, Wyoming, placed first in the association’s Best General News Photo category for her news photo, Protesters march with signs during Sexual Assault Awareness Week.

Dr. Julian Berrian, Associate Professor of Communication Arts, said he was pleased with the recognition of the students’ efforts.

"Our students' exceptional contributions to collegiate media serve as a testament to their passion for quality news production and reflect the emphasis which CSC's faculty places on applied learning," Berrian said.
