Patterson’s investiture set for April 5
CHADRON – The investiture of Chadron State College’s twelfth president, Dr. Ron K. Patterson, is set for Friday, April 5, at 3 p.m. at Memorial Hall. The live stream is scheduled to begin at 2:45 p.m.
Dr. James Pruett, a native of Louisiana, will be the keynote speaker. Pruett, who is retired, worked 23 years at Louisiana State University. During that time, he authored or co-authored two books and more than 40 journal publications while rising to the rank of Professor in the College of Business Administration. He also worked for International Paper in Memphis as manager of its Decision Technology group. He returned to academics at the University of Tennessee Health Science center where he worked and became friends with Patterson.
The Chadron State College Concert Choir, Community Chorus, and CSC Wind Symphony will perform during the ceremony.
Delegates planning to march in the processional include from Wayne State College Vice President for Student Affairs C.D. Douglas and Vice President for Enrollment Management Kevin Halle, Peru State College President Dr. Michael Evans, and Doane University President Dr. Roger Hughes.
Chancellor of the Nebraska State College System Paul Turman and members of the Board of Trustees will also attend.
All guests are invited to a reception at the Math Science Center of Innovative Learning at 4:30 p.m. following Patterson’s investiture. Transportation will be provided from Memorial Hall to the Math Science Center of Innovative Learning for those who need it.
Friday afternoon’s investiture ceremony will cap off a busy couple of days at CSC. Thursday, a faculty symposium will take place in the Math Science COIL Lecture Hall from 2 to 3:30 p.m. A student block party starting at 11 a.m. will culminate at 6 p.m. with the C-Hill Centennial Celebration and First Lady Ice Cream Social at Beebe Stadium. A student dance will take place in the Hub from 8 to 10 p.m.

Donations will support innovative initiatives, foster partnerships, and enhance cutting-edge curriculum development.
