Dr. JoAnne Owens-Nauslar to kick off Graves Lecture Series

CHADRON – Dr. JoAnne Owens-Nauslar, a CSC graduate and nationally recognized advocate for physical activity and health literacy, will present Title IX Trailblazers Thursday, Oct. 3 in the Student Center Ballroom. This event is part of the Title IX 50th Anniversary celebration and the Graves Lecture Series.
Owens-Nauslar, who has dedicated 55 years to promoting active living, will present two sessions. The first from 7 to 7:50 p.m., when she will discuss “Title IX Pioneers, Trailblazers, & Trends,” followed by “Fit to Lead” from 8 to 9 p.m.
Known for her expertise in team building, communication, and leadership through fitness, Owens-Nauslar has served as a past president of several organizations including SHAPE America and the Husker Athletic Fund.
Owens-Nauslar has held various educational and corporate roles, including 19 years as the Nebraska State Director for health and Physical Education. Her contributions to the field have earned her induction into multiple halls of fame and numerous prestigious awards, including the Mable Lee and R. Tait McKenzie Awards. Currently, she serves on the Nebraska Sports Council Board and chairs the Chadron State Foundation.
Owens-Nauslar has established endowed scholarships in several sports at Chadron State, furthering her commitment to promoting athletics and education.
