CHADRON – Similar to last year, Chadron State College’s spring enrollment has increased from the previous spring. As of Monday, CSC’s 10-day enrollment in the 2023 spring semester is 2,197 students, compared to 2,102 students in 2022.

The 2023 spring semester numbers show an increase of 4.5 percent in headcount and 2.5 percent in credit hour production in full-time students from the same date one year ago.

“We still have a lot going on and Enrollment Management is working with many students to get them enrolled, but we are happy with how this spring semester is shaping up,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Tami Selby. “These positive numbers are a reflection of a lot of hard work from our staff and faculty, and it is encouraging to see the collaboration all across campus.”

Additionally, the college announced its persistence from the fall semester to the spring semester is tracking well, especially the graduate cohort. Nearly 81 percent of graduate students and 82.4 percent of undergraduate students have persisted from the fall. The college had a 71 percent retention rate from fall 2021 to fall 2022 and Selby believes the retention rate for students enrolled in fall 2023 will be above that mark.
