Dine With Us series continues Tuesday
CHADRON – The Dine With Us schedule for the 2023-24 academic year continues Tuesday. The series will provide individual insights of International Club members about their home country as well as its politics, climate, food, music, dance, and traditions.
On Oct. 24, Sophia Oladimeji and Kosiso Akwanamnye of Nigeria will present about their country. Oladimeji is a Justice Studies major with a focus on Criminal Justice and Akwanamnye is a Communications major with a focus on Journalism.
The Nigerian meal options are jollof rice and peppered chicken.
"The meals are so tied to Nigerian culture that they have become a symbol," Oladimeji said.
Guests are invited to go through the cafeteria or grill and then bring their trays to the Bordeaux Room on the east side of the Student Center. The program will begin at 11:15 a.m.
On Nov. 28, Dr. Gabriella Pruitt Santos and Julio Santos conclude the fall semester schedule with a presentation on Guatemala.
Vernon Plenty Bull and Jennifer Schaer will start the Spring 2024 lunch series with a presentation about Pine Ridge, South Dakota, Jan. 23.
Herve Auguste Akoko of Ivory Coast presents on his country Feb. 20.
The Dine With Us lunch series ends April 23 with a presentation from the president of the International Club, Emmanuella Tchona. She will talk about her country, Benin.
