CSC to co-host sixth annual Range Day Jan. 12
CHADRON – The Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District (UNWNRD) will partner with Chadron State College and the C.F. Coffee Family Foundation to host the sixth annual Range Day at the CSC Student Center Tuesday, Jan. 12. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. in the Scottsbluff Room and is open to anyone interested in range health.
According to Tricia Goes, UNWNRD Natural Resources Coordinator, the one-day, educational event will include a free lunch provided by the C.F. Coffee Family Foundation and the Nebraska Environmental Trust.
“The planning committee has pulled together another line up of great speakers on several range related topics,” Goes said.
The range topics, subject to change, are: Good, Bad, and the Ugly of Weedy Plants by Chis Helzer with The Nature Conservancy; Alfalfa Weevils: Positive vs. Negative Bugs by Jeff Bradshaw, University of Nebraska Lincoln entomologist; Day Weather by Don Day with the Cheyenne Weather Service; Pollinator Habitat; and Natural Resource Conservation Service Federal Benefits.
