CHADRON – The Chadron State College Social Sciences Club is sponsoring several activities in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. No classes will convene Monday for the third year following a decision by the Nebraska State College System to recognize the national holiday.

President of the Social Sciences Club Laura Clay of Colorado Springs, Colorado, said the club is collaborating with other campus organizations to present events for three days.

 

Schedule:

Monday

10:30 a.m.           March from the intersection of Third and Main to the CSC Student Center

Noon                    Lunch provided in the Student Center's Ballroom

1 p.m.                  Student discussion panel in the Student Center's Ballroom

Tuesday

6 p.m.                   Open Mic Night in the Student Center's Amphitheatre (co-sponsored with Sigma Tau Delta)

Wednesday

5 p.m.                   Book of the Month presentation, The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, (co-sponsored with King Library) in the Student Center’s Ponderosa Room
