Board of Trustees approves data analytics minor at CSC
LINCOLN – The Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees hosted its business meeting Wednesday in Lincoln. Prior to the meeting, the NSCS hosted a reception for Nebraska State Senators, and the Councils of Business Officers, Academic Officers, and Student Affairs Officers met.
In addition to approving board policy revisions and revised agreements, during the meeting, the Board of Trustees approved CSC to begin offering a Data Analytics minor, beginning with the fall semester. The School of Business, Mathematics, and Science will instruct the minor online with the intent to educate students who could improve efficiencies with future employers because of their data analytics expertise.
Additionally, the Board of Trustees approved CSC’s substantial completion committee for the Math Science renovation and addition since the project is coming to an end. In addition to NSCS and Board representatives, CSC has five employees involved with the committee.
Finally, the college’s request for contingency maintenance projects for fiscal year 2023 were approved. Updates include an elevator upgrade in Crites Hall, replacing a chiller in the Student Center, and equipment and infrastructure upgrades to residence halls.
The Board of Trustees will meet again April 20-21 in Peru.
