CHADRON – Chadron State College's Senior Thesis Art Show, Escape into Wonderland, opens Monday, Nov. 22 in the Main Gallery of Memorial Hall. The show will be open from Monday, Nov. 22 to Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. A reception featuring the artists will be Dec. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Lobby.

The show will feature work by Mikayla Ames of Chadron, Neb., Rylie Cole of Minden, Neb., Daria Dart of Hastings, Neb., Devin Hodges of Hulett, Wyo., Mia MacDonald of Cheyenne, Wyo., Cyrus Miller of Akron, Col., and Donovan Modisett-Staats of Aurora, Col. Mediums include ceramics, graphic design, paintings, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.

MacDonald said the ART 412 class chose the theme Escape into Wonderland because they want people to get lost in their artwork and feel as if they can escape reality.

According to a class statement, the students said they used the word escape because of the global events over the past 18 months and to give people the chance to get lost in wonderland.

The show is the culminating experience of the Art program so that all art students can gain experience in planning and designing a gallery exhibition, as well as give the public a glimpse into the department’s artwork.

The Senior Thesis Art Show website, https://escapeintowonderland.weebly.com, shows a preview of some of the art featured in the show.
