New education honor society established on campus

CHADRON – Chadron State College Associate Professor of Education Dr. Robin Brierly and a group of education majors have established a chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in Education. The CSC chapter name is Alpha Kappa Kappa.

Officers and charter members of the organization are Rayleigh Farrenkopf of Bridgeport, Neb., president, Olivia Albright of Scottsbluff, Neb., vice president, JoAnn Neel of McCook, Neb., secretary, Hope Stone of Maywood, Neb., treasurer, and Ebawnee Smercina of Craig, Colo., and Ashley Anderson of Ashby, Neb., Campus Activity Board representatives.

Membership is open to any CSC student sophomore through graduate level with a 3.5 GPA or higher who plans to enter a teaching career.

“The opportunity to honor the education students for their hard work and dedication through an Education honor society and presenting a cord to the students at graduation will be a proud moment,” Brierly said. “We are an active club and looking for new members. There are many discounts, service, and networking opportunities.”
