Graves Lecture Series resumes Oct. 26

Chadron State College's Graves Lecture Series Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Sandoz Center will feature a panel consisting of Tena Cook, College Relations Marketing Coordinator, Dr. Kim Madsen, Family and Consumer Sciences Professor, and Dr. Dave Nesheim, Social Sciences Associate Professor. CHADRON – The Fall 2021 Graves Lecture Series will resume Oct. 26 with presenters Tena Cook, College Relations Marketing Coordinator, Dr. Kim Madsen, Family, and Consumer Sciences Professor, and Dr. Dave Nesheim, Social Sciences Associate Professor, will present “A Stitch in Time: 1938 Air Mail Quilt.” In 1938, Cook’s grandmother designed, sewed, and embroidered a quilt to commemorate National Air Mail Week. The series will conclude Nov. 9 with Traphagan, a Chadron Middle School Social Sciences Teacher, who will present “The Holocaust Past and Present.” She will discuss the history of the Holocaust, the Nazi Germany practices of ethnic purification, and the devasting effects on survivors and their families.

Each lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center Chicoine Atrium. These events are free and open to the public.
