Campus will remain closed Tuesday
Updated: March 15, 12:15 p.m. Chadron State College will remain closed Tuesday, March 16, due to winter weather conditions. Residence halls and dining services will remain open. Chadron State College, which was on midterm break last week, also closed Monday, March 15.
Chadron and much of western Nebraska received heavy snowfall Sunday and roads leading into town remain closed as of Monday afternoon. College officials recommend students check road conditions at Nebraska 511 Traveler Information before returning to campus.
The National Weather Service does not recommend travel due to dangerous conditions, such as ice, snow-packed roads, and low visibility.

Chadron State College is closing its campus Monday, March 15, due to forecasted winter weather conditions. Residence halls will remain open and dining services will resume operations Monday.
CSC is currently on its midterm break. Since campus will be closed Monday, college officials are requesting students to not return to campus this weekend due to potentially hazardous road conditions.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reports a possibility of a significant winter storm that begins Friday evening and continues through Monday morning. Heavy snow, freezing rain, icy roads, and blizzard conditions may occur.
The National Weather Service predicts this storm will impact travel on roads, including Interstate 25 and Interstate 80 in western Nebraska.
Keep your pets indoors and carry an emergency kit in your vehicle that includes blankets, extra food, and water.
