Board of Trustees approve MOA with LCCC at recent meeting

Approved items that impact Chadron State College, include a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Laramie County Community College (LCCC). The MOA will allow the two institutions to enter into mutually beneficial partnerships for transfer students. CSC has a similar program, the Panhandle Advantage, with Western Nebraska Community College.

The Board also approved the seven-year review by the Coordinating Commission on Post-Secondary Education of the following CSC academic programs: Biology Health Science, Communication Arts, Rangeland Management, Social Work, and History. History will continue with an annual review.

In other business, the Board approved Math Science Addition and Renovation guaranteed maximum price at $24,602,283 and two change orders for asbestos abatement on the project site. They also approved the purchase of an online orientation platform and a charter bus for Athletics.

At a second special meeting March 24, the Board of Trustees announced it approved the contract for Dr. Michael Evans to be the next President at Peru State College. Evans most recently served as the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer for Southern New Hampshire University’s campus-based program. Prior to SNHU, he was the Provost of Unity College in Maine, and before that, he was the Interim Dean of the Indiana University School (IU) of Journalism. He served on the IU School of Journalism faculty for 14 years, earning tenure and promotion.
