CHADRON – Chadron State College will be offering its first online orientation for all new students this summer, according to Director of Student Transition and Retention Tamara Toomey.

“The goal of the orientation is to provide incoming students and their families with the information they need to be prepared when they start classes in August. We are also working on developing some live and interactive events via Facebook Live and Zoom to complement our content and help students build connections to campus virtually,” Toomey said.

Since the online was launched orientation last week, 81 students completed it and an additional 29 started it, according to Toomey.

Toomey said all enrolled new freshmen and transfer students have been asked to complete the online orientation, which takes between 30 minutes and an hour, by June 30. Students who enroll after that date will be asked to complete it as soon as possible. Students can refer back to the information at any time and it is accessible to their families/guests.

Sections in the online orientation include Stay Connected, Living at CSC, Eagle Academics, Paying for College, Student Success, and next steps. Stay Connected covers the Admission To Do List, EagleMail, and policies.
