Memorandum of understanding between ESU 13 and CSC approved at recent Board meeting
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees approved a memorandum of understanding between Education Service Unit 13 and Chadron State College.
According to board meeting materials, the memorandum of understanding supports collaboration opportunities for CSC to provide undergraduate and graduate level continuing education and professional development course credit with ESU 13 during the Jan. 15 meeting in Lincoln.
The Board of Trustees also approved 2019-21 agreements with the State College Education Association (SCEA), Nebraska State College Professional Association (NSCPA), and Nebraska Associate of Public Employees, Local #61, of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (NAPE/AFSCME).
Among the approved agreements are salary increases for all union employees. For 2019-20 and 2020-21, each returning SCEA faculty member shall receive a 2.5 percent increase above the prior year base salary. Additionally, each returning NSCPA and NAPE/AFSCME employee will receive a 2.5 percent increase above the prior year base salary for 2019-20 and 2020-21.
The Board approved an internship agreement with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for Practicum Experiences for Chadron State College. According to Board materials, this partnership will allow students to complete practicum experiences that are part of their graduation requirements.
The Board also approved two audits. The first basic financial audit report for fiscal years ending June 30, 2018 and 2017 was performed by the Auditor of Public Accounts. The second single (federal) audit was performed by BKD for fiscal year ending June 30, 2018.
The meeting concluded with reports from each college’s Student Trustee and President.
The next Board of Trustees’ meeting is scheduled for March 21-22 at Peru State College.
