CHADRON – Behavioral Health Career Interest Day will feature two free sessions Wednesday open to all Chadron State College students, according to Dr. Tara Wilson, assistant professor.

“Lunch with a Social Worker” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center will include lunch and feature a presentation by Lori Rodriquez-Fletcher, a licensed independent clinical social worker and adjunct Social Work instructor with CSC. She is an independent contract therapist with Options in Psychology LLC in Alliance and Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and supervises social work and counseling students.

Her experience includes crisis intervention, acute and chronic suicidality, mental illness, grief, trauma, juvenile and adult justice, child welfare, and substance abuse. She has special interest in abuse and neglect, trauma, military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, child-parent psychotherapy, play therapy, adoption, and co-occurring disorders.

A panel discussion from 3 to 4:30 p.m. will include Dr. Cate Jones-Hazledine, licensed psychologist, and four CSC alumnae, Holly Shield, mental health practitioner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Hot Springs, South Dakota, Loni Watson, school counselor with Chadron Public Schools, grades 7-12, Dana Tewahade, licensed mental health professional, and Jen Taylor, licensed drug and alcohol counselor.
