Jones to present Graves Lecture Tuesday

CHADRON – The Fall 2018 Graves Lecture Series will conclude Tuesday with Markus Jones presenting at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center’s Chicoine Atrium. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Jones, an assistant professor of English, will present “The Shaping of Story,” including a short craft lecture about plot and tension as well as a short story reading. Jones is the author of "How the Butcher Bird Finds Her Voice,” published in 2018 by Five Oaks Press. His novel is an award winner in the Multicultural category of the 2018 American Fiction Awards, has been nominated for a 2018 Pushcart Prize, and is a finalist for both the 2017 Tillie Olsen Award and the literary category of the American Fiction Awards.
