Gov. Pete Ricketts appoints NSCS Student Trustees
LINCOLN, Neb.–Governor Pete Ricketts has appointed Chadron State College student Dawson Brunswick of McCook, Neb; Peru State College student Camarie Stratman of Hartington, Neb., and Wayne State College student Ria Pedersen of Hartington, Neb., to serve as student representatives on the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees. The students will serve during the 2018-2019 academic year.
Brunswick, a sophomore at CSC, is earning a degree in education with a field endorsement in business, marketing and information technology education. He is the president of Phi Beta Lambda and vice president of the Student Senate. He also serves as an IT assistant for a firm in Chadron and a network/system administrator for a firm in McCook. He has also served as a student board member on the McCook Public School Board of Education. He is the son of James and Tiffany Brunswick of McCook.
In his application, Brunswick said receiving the Board of Trustees scholarship gave him the opportunity to attend college and in the process presented many opportunities he would not have had otherwise.
"In return, it is time for me to serve and pay it forward,” Brunswick said.
