Finalists announced for NSCS Chancellor search

LINCOLN – The Board of Trustees announced four finalists in the search for the next chancellor of the Nebraska State College System (NSCS). Chancellor Stan Carpenter is retiring after 18 years of service with the NSCS.

The chancellor search committee has publicly identified four finalists for the NSCS chancellor position. The finalists will visit Lincoln and participate in an interview at the Board of Trustees meeting Sept. 30-Oct. 1. The final selection of the chancellor will be made by the NSCS Board of Trustees. The four finalists are: Thom D. Chesney, Ph.D., John L. Kuehn, D.V.M., Rusty L. Monhollon, Ph.D. and Paul D. Turman, Ph.D.

“I am pleased that we have four talented finalists who will be able to build on the momentum created by Chancellor Carpenter and lead the State Colleges to a bright future,” said Gary Bieganski, Chair of the NSCS Board of Trustees. “I would like to thank the members of the search and advisory committees for their dedication to the search process.

The NSCS Board of Trustees will meet Sunday, Sept. 30 and Monday, Oct. 1 to interview the four finalists at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln, Nebraska. The meeting schedule is available in the Board meeting materials.

After interviewing the four finalists, the Board of Trustees will meet to consider the candidates and vote Monday afternoon.
