Theatre students direct 10-minute plays
CHADRON – Chadron State College students enrolled in Beginning Directing (TH 237) welcome the public to watch several 10-minute plays Sunday, April 30, at the Black Box Theatre.
The first production begins at 2 p.m., and admission is free.
Students have produced and will direct and perform in all seven plays, according to Roger Mays, theatre professor.
Act 1 will consist of “Beauty,” “Man Who Couldn’t Dance,” “Anything for You” and “Misreadings.” Act 2 will consist of “Eukiah,” “Superhero” and “Precipice.”
Plays will run back-to-back and the acts will be split by a 10-minute intermission.
To begin Act 1, Bryce Fultz will direct “Beauty” by Jane Martin. The play will feature actors Alphese Stubbs and Rachel Dowling.
Leo Haselhorst will direct “The Man Who Couldn’t Dance” by Jason Katimns. T.D. Stein and Hannah Smith will be the actors.
Mickenzi Loyd will direct “Anything for You” by Cathy Celesia. The play will be performed by Taylor Thies and Courtney Smith.
The final play for Act 1 is “Misreadings” by Neena Beber. Jennaya Hill will direct, and the actors are Hannah Clark-Wirth and Sara Labor.
Following a 10-minute intermission, Haselhorst and Wacey Gallegos will perform “Eukiah” by Lanford Wilson. Brittney Palmer will direct the play.
Tyler Fultz will direct “Superhero” by Mark Havery Levine. Brittney Palmer and Jacob Wilson are the actors.
The finale is “Precipice” by William Mastrosimone. Shanie Hollenbeck will direct the play with Thies and Casey Kukowski as actors.
