Chadron State College women's track and field dominated the RMAC indoor season All-Academic First Team released on Wednesday. CSC track and field stars Tessa Gorsuch, Ashlyn Hanson, Mel Herl, and Stachia Reuwsaat gave the Eagles more First Teamers than any other conference opponent. In addition, 10 Chadron State men and seven women were named to the RMAC Honor Roll.

Five-time RMAC All-Academic First Teamer Stachia Reuwsaat captured her second consecutive national indoor long jump title at her most recent event, the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, in Birmingham, Alabama. She is a former two-time RMAC Academic Athlete of the Year. A justice studies major from Black Hawk, South Dakota, Reuwsaat has a 3.97 grade point average and has taken the LSAT in preparation for law school.

CSC graduate student-athlete Mel Herl, currently in her final season of eligibility, was named to her second consecutive First Team All-Academic after previously landing on the 2015 outdoor squad. She was last eligible in spring of 2015 before redshirting 2015-16. Herl captured her first national title in the indoor shot put this past season, and preceded it with an All-America third-place showing in the weight throw. She is a five-time RMAC academic honoree after getting placed on the conference honor roll three times.

Ashlyn Hanson's outdoor season is off to a great start in 2017 just on the heels of earning her first career RMAC Field Athlete of the Week honor. She also takes her first All-Academic First Team award after previously being named to the RMAC academic honor roll twice. She was runner-up to Herl in this season's RMAC indoor championships weight throw competition. Hanson maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA and majors in education.

Gorsuch is fresh off her first All-America finish, taking third in the 60 meter hurdles at the 2017 NCAA indoor championships. She also won the same event at the RMAC indoor championships, where she finished sixth in the 60 meter dash. The senior education major has a 3.96 GPA.

Among honor roll recipients, Josef Gertner stands out with his seventh season, counting cross country, indoor, and outdoor, as an RMAC honor roll qualifier. His 3.89 GPA in health and physical education lands the junior from Fort Morgan, Colorado, among the top academians on the men's team.

Tory Snyder, a perennial pole vault competitor for the Eagles, is a five-time RMAC honor roll recipient. She carries a 3.93 GPA in education.

Callie Johnson, Maggie Vinton, and Frantzlee LaCrete are the Eagles' fourth-time honorees on the RMAC honor roll.

Blake Jacobs, a two-time RMAC All-Academic First Team winner, gets his third recognition as an academic standout. Joining him as three-time honor rollers are Taylor Allison, Austin Fajfer, Cory Martens, Gregg Peterson, and Eric Yager.

The two-time honor roll designees are Taylor Dick and Haley Gallagher.

First-time recognition goes to Cory Salitrik, Matthew Klein, Maddy Brashears, and Cassidy Johnson.
