Spring Daze plans change due to weather

CHADRON – Due to the weather forecast, organizers of Spring Daze Saturday have moved activities outdoor activities indoors Saturday.

The musical acts will be moved to the Nelson Physical Activities Center arena and most of the games including putt putt golf and pillow fights, along with club booths, will be moved to the Armstrong Gymnasium and the Chicoine Center.

However, due to space limitations, the following events will not be offered: Slip ‘n’ Slide, basketball, sand volleyball, and bubble soccer.

Other events on campus scheduled in Memorial Hall, the Sandoz Center, the Coffee Agriculture Pavilion and the Gold Room will take place as planned.

A petting zoo with animals including bunnies, fainting goats and a giraffe will be located in the Coffee Agriculture Pavilion.

Two art shows will be open, the Art Guild will present “Salon des Refuses” and the All Student Juried Art Show, in Memorial Hall’s Main Gallery.

Admission is $5 or five non-perishable food items for adults. Children under 12, military, senior citizens will receive an all-day wristband for $3 or three non-perishable food items. Admission includes a barbecue in the Student Center Ballroom at 5 p.m. after activities close.

Parking will open at 9 a.m. and activities will be from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to Karson Langley, vice president of Student Senate and a member of the Spring Daze committee.
