CHADRON – Students now have access to a mobile application of Chadron State events this fall, according to Chris Green, director of student activities and recreation.

The app, named Chadron State Activity Guide, can be downloaded for free at either the Android or Applestores, Green said.

Students can search within the app for upcoming events by entering the name of the group sponsoring the event. Additional features of the app include weather, social media links, Google maps, and a calendar where students can select and save events.

Green has used the app, created by Guidebook, at multiple conferences to select sessions he attended and the app is used by many nationally known colleges and universities. He built the CSC guide in April and May with images and branding advice provided by College Relations and then tested it with the help of Informational Technology over the summer.

Green said when students are planning an event, they will still need to contact Conferencing to make room reservations and food arrangements. They will also need to enter the event information into an online form for it to appear in the app.

“I’m pleased with how it turned out,” Green said. “We’ve wanted something like this for a very long time. CAB and Student Senate provided input and also helped fund it. With technology advances all around us, having access to something like this just makes sense.”
