CHADRON - Chadron State College is offering GroupFit exercise sessions this spring in the Nelson Physical Activity Center.

GroupFit, a group-oriented workout program designed to suit all ages, offers various classes focusing on a range of topics from muscle strength to cardiovascular endurance.

Training sessions are led by certified ACE (American Council of Exercise) student-trainers Teren Hansen, of Casper, Wyo., Dakota Gellner, of Gering, Neb., Mel Herl, of Eaton, Colo., and Asia Gatewood, of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Chris Green, director of student activities and recreation, said GroupFit is a great way to get in shape in an encouraging group setting.

“GroupFit aims at addressing the exercise habits of everyone from a college student to an elderly person. Classes are very upbeat and positive and our trainers do a great job at leading. They are trained for all levels of fitness and know how to also adjust workouts as need be,” Green said.

Group fitness classes cover spin cycling, step aerobics, stretching/foam rolling, dance cardio and many other areas of physical activity. Classes with limited capacity include foam-rolling and stretching, dance classes and cycling.

Classes are free with a NPAC membership or a valid EagleCard.

Daily schedules for specific GroupFit sessions are posted on the NPAC Facebook page and the CSC website. Weekly schedules may be found at NPAC’s front desk.
