CHADRON – Jennifer Wittrock, who represented Chadron State College’s Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC), was one of five presenters at a Nebraska Northwest Development Corporation’s lending workshop co-hosted by the NBDC, the City of Chadron, the Panhandle Area Development District and the Rural Enterprise Assistance Project.

Eight local residents attended the Feb. 27 session in Chadron designed to help familiarize them with various financial tools and types of business assistance available in the area.

From starting a business to transitioning into retirement, the agencies outlined what free services they can provide, including counseling, research, business plan assessment and creation.

Wittrock opened the session with an overview of the business development services available through NBDC. After the workshop, she said two of the attendees will be following up with the NBDC to discuss getting help with business start-up plans.

Topics covered by additional presenters included revolving loans, Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP) micro lending, LB840 Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act funds, and Tax Increment Financing (TIF).

Wittrock said the materials she distributed at the workshop are available to any interested person by calling the NBDC at 308-432-6282 or the NNDC at 308-432-4023.
