CHADRON – The Chadron State Foundation’s Fall Fund Drive started Tuesday with community and campus volunteers requesting donations from area businesses and college employees. It will conclude Oct. 28.

Titled “Make an Impression,” the Fall Fund Drive is comprised of 124 people who work together on-campus and in the community to raise money that benefits Chadron State College programs and scholarships.

Justin Haag and Jennifer Brown are the community co-chairs, while Melissa Mitchell and Dawn Brammer guide the campus teams. Each co-chair recruited five team leaders and they each developed teams of their own.

Brammer commented on the meaning of the theme.

“Although we think we are the ones making the impression on our students’, in turn, it is they who make an impression on us,” Brammer said.

Haag agrees the Fall Fund Drive is important.

“This is always a great effort to bring together the community and the college. It’s important for both and even the entire Panhandle and beyond. The theme ‘Make An Impression’ works on a lot of levels,” Haag said.

The annual campaign, which began in the early 1990s, has a long and successful tradition of providing funds to Chadron State College. In 2015, over $180,000 was pledged to campus during the fund drive and 576 students received scholarships. The Foundation’s endowment funds exceed $16 million and total assets are more than $19 million.
