Dowding receives national science teaching award
A Dawes County native and graduate of Chadron State College, Sharla Dowding, is one of six educators nationally to be awarded the Robert E. Yager Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award for 2015-16.
The award was given by the National Science Teachers Association, the largest professional organization in the world promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning.
Dowding grew up on a ranch in the Marsland area, where her parents, Buzz and Rosalene Tollman, reside. She is a graduate of Crawford High School and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science education from Chadron State.
