CHADRON – Sherry Douglas, formerly Chadron State College’s Senior Director of Student Services, has received a new title, Associate Vice President of Student Services.

Douglas, who continues to direct financial aid, admissions, records and the Student Transition And Registration Team (START) office, now also leads international student services including recruiting, compliance and retention.

“I’m excited to take this on. It was a nice fit with other student services and allows us to streamline processes and offer more opportunities for international students,” Douglas said.

Also included in her new realm is supervision of START advisers at CSC sites at MPCC in North Platte and at WNCC Scottsbluff.

Douglas envisioned the new START positions in North Platte and Scottsbluff to offer a broad array of in-person services including scholarships, academic and career advising, credit evaluations, financial aid and enrollment for all programs. Before the change, Douglas said the focus at these sites was mainly on serving education majors and students and they had to call or email personnel on the Chadron campus for these services.

Douglas, who earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from CSC, began her career as a financial aid counselor from 1990 to 1994. She became the financial aid director in 1994 and was an integral team lead during the student information system implementation from 2008 to 2010. She was promoted to senior director of student services in 2012.
