The Big Event leaders to present at Texas A&M
For a third time in as many years Chadron State College Assistant Professor of communication arts Shaunda French and now admissions representative Justy Bullington, formerly student leader, are returning to Texas A&M University’s The Big Event conference
Saturday, French and Bullington will present a 30-minute session on CSC’s The Big Event (TBE) a student-led day of service designed for the campus community to give back to the community.
The title of their presentation is “The Big Event: Instilling Tradition Campuswide.” French and Bullington will discuss how The Big Event has influenced students and the region and is focused on the areas of academics, admissions, assessment and athletics.
”It’s such an honor for Texas A&M to ask us to come back and present again about our Big Event. We feel so thankful for the relationship we have built with The Big Event staff at Texas A&M,” said French.
CSC’s third The Big Event will be Saturday, April 25, in conjunction with the spring football game.
“The Big Event is one of my favorite times of the year. It not only helps create energy for our spring game, but it also allows our team and CSC students an opportunity to give back to our community. It is a fun thing to be a part of and I wish we would have done a Big Event when I was a student at CSC,” said head football coach Jay long.
Volunteer sign-ups for students, faculty and staff will begin Monday, March 16 in the Student Center.

In 2013, TBE had approximately 400 volunteers (students, faculty, and staff) while the second year involved approximately 700 volunteers and expanded to outside communities such as Crawford.
