Students encouraged to apply for Miss CSC Rodeo contest

CHADRON – Chadron State College students interested in competing for the title of Miss CSC Rodeo are encouraged to apply before the Sept. 9 deadline. Applications are available from Laure Sinn at 308-432-6455 or Crites Hall Room 341, or Deb Smith at 308-432-7032 or Crites Hall Room 214.

The free event Sept. 12 is open to the public. The horsemanship competition will begin at 10 a.m. in the Coffee Agriculture Pavilion. Contestants must provide their own horses for freestyle horsemanship. 

During the pageant, at 2 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center, contestants will model casual western clothing in a style show, then give a brief presentation and answer interview questions.

The coronation of the 2015-2016 Miss Chadron State College Rodeo queen and first runner-up will immediately follow the pageant. A reception will follow the coronation.
