Student Tutors and Supplemental Instruction leaders recognized

CHADRON – Tutors and Supplemental Instruction leaders were honored at a Cinco de Mayo event hosted by the Learning Center in the Chadron State College King Library May 5.

Learning Center coordinator Frances Gonzalez said she was pleased with the work done by the student employees this year and wished the graduates well in their future endeavors.

Abby Gibson of Springview, Neb. was acknowledged for six semesters serving in the Learning Center, as both a Supplemental Instruction leader and Tutor. Gonzalez proclaimed May 5 “Abby Gibson Day” in the student’s honor.

Tutors earning certification from the College Reading and Learning Association were Nathaniel Brown of Rapid City, S.D., Lacey Clarke of Berwyn, Neb. and Justin German of Imperial, Neb.

Graduating seniors who have been either Tutors or Supplemental Instruction leaders include Dylan Bairn of Scottsbluff, Neb., Hannah Clark of Littleton, Colo., Lacey Clarke of Berwyn, Neb., Maggie Darnell of Chadron, Neb., Cheyenne Deering of Wasta, S.D., Sarah DeKay of Chambers, Neb., Jorge Flores of Teguciagalpa, Honduras, Scott Fraser of Lincoln, Neb., Gibson, Zachariah Pieper of Gering, Neb., Daniel Regier of Imperial, Neb. and Morgan Schaeffer of Lewellen, Neb. who is leaving campus to complete student teaching.
