Snare to host campus presentations
CHADRON – Dr. Charles Snare, vice president of academic affairs, will host several presentations related to Chadron State College’s reaffirmation process through the Higher Learning Commission for the campus community in September and October.
Snare and others involved in the reaffirmation will discuss three topics: The Master Academic Plan (MAP) Progress, the HLC Reaffirmation Process, and the State of Higher Education.
All presentations are from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in the Lakota Room of the Student Center. The MAP presentations are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14, and Thursday, Sept. 24, the HLC Reaffirmation presentations are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 1, and the State of Higher Education presentations are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, and Thursday, Oct. 8.
CSC’s MAP is a four-year plan that was developed in the 2013 fall semester. The MAP serves the purpose of molding and sustaining a high quality and cost-effective learning experience that differentiates Chadron State College from other institutions of higher learning.
The MAP also has six core priorities. They are:
1. Continue to implement and improve the Essential Studies Program.
2.Define, develop and promote co-curricular experiences that foster undergraduate and graduate student engagement.
3.Create and implement a strategic vision for teaching and learning technologies, teaching and learning center and the library learning commons.
4. Evaluate campus-wide processes for student recruitment, advising and retention.
5. Study, create, and implement a strategic vision for the graduate studies program.
6. Evaluate campus-wide processes for faculty and staff recruitment and retention.
