Music department announces fall performance schedule

CHADRON – The Chadron State College department of music has several upcoming events for the fall semester.

The Wind Symphony will perform Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium. Led by Dr. Sidney Shuler, Thursday’s concert is the first show of the year for the department. An audio stream will be available at csc.edu/live.

On Sunday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m. in the Chadron Arts Center, the men’s ensemble and Arioso will be perform. Dr. Joel Schreuder is conducting the A Capella men’s ensemble, while Dr. Una Taylor conducts the Arioso.

The concert and community choirs will be performing Sunday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Chadron Arts Center. The choir concert is conducted by Schreuder and will perform music with themes of fire, water and joy. Taylor will be conducting the community choir in a range of styles from the baroque to modern times.

On Sunday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium, the keyboard ensemble and piano studio recital will take place. The concert is organized by assistant professor Brooks Hafey. The keyboard ensemble will be playing several different Hungarian dances.
