CHADRON – The Chadron State College fall Graves Lecture Series will commence Tuesday, Sept. 22, with Dr. Josh Ellis, assistant professor in the Family and Consumer Sciences department as the featured speaker. In his presentation, “Nutritional Ketosis: Fat is Phat,” Ellis will discuss fitness and social factors that influence nutritional patterns.

Other Graves speakers include Dr. Steve Coughlin who will perform a poetry reading featuring several poems from his book, "Another City," on Oct. 13. According to Coughlin, the poems illustrate the harsh struggles of a working class family which will leave the audience considering what healing, if any, the imagined world can offer. The title of his presentation is “Another City: A Creative Writing Reading.”

On Oct. 27, Dr. Shaunda French will discuss work spouse relationships and how they positively and negatively influence other relationships, both at work and at home. The title of her presentation is “My Confidant, My Coworker: The Interpersonal Relationship of Work Spouses.”

Peggy Hinman will wrap up the series Nov. 10 with a presentation based on the book "8 to Great." She will discuss techniques to improve perspectives on all phases of life. The title of her talk is “Life: It Depends on How You Look at It.”

The presentations begin at 7 p.m. in Room 111 of the King Library. They are free, open to the public and available at csc.edu/live. For more information or to suggest a speaker, contact Shawn Hartman at 308-432-6271, ext. 7059 or shartman@csc.edu.
