CHADRON – The Chadron State Foundation’s annual fall fundraising campaign begins Oct. 13 with community and campus volunteers requesting donations from area businesses and college employees.

Titled “Seasons of Success,” the annual campaign is comprised of 124 people who work together on-campus and in the community to raise money that benefits Chadron State College programs and scholarships.

Justin Haag and Bobby Griese are the campaign co-chairs for the community, while Melissa Mitchell and Shaunda French guide the campus teams. Each co-chair recruited five team leaders and they each developed teams of their own.

“The community and campus co-chairs are an integral piece to the success of the annual campaign,” Foundation Development Officer Leslie Bargen said. “They each bring their own personalities, ideas and additional volunteers to keep this campaign vibrant and successful.”

The annual campaign, which began in the early 1990s, has a long and successful tradition of providing funds to Chadron State College. Last year nearly $204,000 was pledged to campus during the campaign and more than 565 students received a scholarship from the Foundation. Currently, the Foundation endowment funds exceed $17 million and total assets are more than $20 million.
