CHADRON – The Chadron State Foundation’s annual campaign, “Seasons of Success,” is off to a strong start.

Chadron State Foundation Development Officer Leslie Bargen announced at a victory party Monday the subtotal pledged through the volunteer portion of the campaign is $179,083. The amount is an increase over last year at this time and she expects the grand total will be well over $200,000.

Collectively, 124 volunteers approached 598 potential donors and 78 percent contributed. Nearly 21 percent of donors increased the amount of their gift to the foundation. Volunteers also recruited 65 new or lapsed donors.

Bargen said the volunteers’ efforts help make college a possibility for students.

“We all win when we work together on this campaign. The dollars are critical to our students who are the most important part of Chadron State College,” she said.

Winning CSC team members are: Lorie Hunn, Kathy Stokey, Brenda Barry-Schommer, Jesse Sealey, Dawn Brammer and Sally Katen. Winning community team members are: Deb Evans, Ron Grant, Bob Zahm, Tammie Scheopner, Dave Coe and George Klein.

Points are earned by obtaining a new donor, an increase of $25 from last year’s gift, a new payroll deduction pledge and other criteria.

The individuals who accumulated the highest point totals were Alex Helmbrecht on the campus side and Rob Bila on the community side.

Pledges are still being accepted to the annual campaign. Contact Bargen at 308-432-6362 for more information.
