Bolze earns conservation education grant
Chadron State College associate professor Dr. Ron Bolze received a $2,500 Nebraska Range and Conservation Endowment grant from the Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation at their annual meeting Dec. 11 in Kearney, Nebraska.
Bolze joined the CSC applied science department in August 2013 and has hosted two conservation and ag production speakers on campus. He was also the featured guest for a Graves Lecture Series presentation.
The grant will be used for educational purposes to benefit CSC students. Bolze will determine how the funds are to be used once he knows the results of his other applications for high impact learning experiences.
Bolze is pleased that the award will be used to assist CSC students considering the dilemma of feeding a projected nine billion people by 2050 through increased food production without deleting the earth’s natural resources.
“The Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation has a long history of financial awards to enhance the educational process of the next generation of Nebraska cattle producers. It’s an honor to receive this award,” Bolze said.
