Volunteers raise $177,756 in annual campaign

 Leslie Bargen, development officer with the foundation, announced the total amount raised this year was $177,756. She expressed thanks to the campus chairs, Rob Stack and Shaunda French and the community chairs, Senna Reeves and Bobby Griese, for their hours of work coordinating the efforts of more than 100 volunteers.

“A huge thank you to all of the volunteers and donors this year. It would be impossible to reach so many people and businesses face to face in such a short time period otherwise. The students of Chadron State continue to benefit from your generosity,” Bargen said.

Bargen said this year was particularly gratifying because a new scholarship, the Chadron Legion Riders Corey Mracek Memorial Scholarship, was established during the campaign.

The top campus and community teams were honored based on accumulating the highest number of points for continued, new and increased pledges. Members of the winning campus team are Jesse Sealey, Lorie Hunn, Brenda Barry-Schommer, Kathy Stokey, Sally Katen and Dawn Brammer. Members of the first place community team are Deb Evans, Rich Stahla, George Klein, Tammie Scheopner, Bob Zahm and Dave Coe.

The campaign total will continue to increase as more pledges and payments are received. Anyone interested in making a pledge to the campaign may contact the foundation office at 308-432-6366.
