The Big Event plans 'The Big White Out'
The Big Event staff is announcing “The Big White Out,” a themed night for the Chadron State College men’s and women’s basketball games Feb. 7 in the Armstrong gymnasium.
“The Big White Out” marks the beginning of an advertising campaign to inform students, CSC employees, and community members about The Big Event, a one-day community service project organized by CSC students.
All spectators are encouraged to wear white for the games. Attendees wearing last year’s white Big Event T-shirts can enter a drawing to win prizes throughout the night. T-shirts will be thrown to the crowd, and those who catch a shirt can also enter to win the prizes.
Big Event staff members will be available to answer questions about The Big Event, and several announcements will be made throughout the games to inform the crowd about how they can get involved in The Big Event.
“We are hoping to have a good turnout on Friday night,” said Sam Parker, event director for The Big Event.
“It’s a great way to support our college athletic teams while we promote this community project,” Parker said.
Both the men’s and women’s teams volunteered in The Big Event last April.
The women’s basketball game starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men’s game.
The Big Event is scheduled for April 26.
