Student Art Shows End Spring Semester 2014
The month of April 2014 opened with the Senior Thesis Student Art Show, "Art of the Independents."
The show, including paintings, graphic design, prints, glass and sculpture, will run through April 18 with a reception for the artists April 11 from 4-6 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Lobby. The art was displayed in a different format using the "salon style" of hanging many works on one wall. Featured artists are Julya Briseno of Kenosha, Wisc., Christina Ferrero of Bayard, Neb., Robby Lee Heckman of Crawford, Neb., and Macee Kellner of Bucklin, Kan. Student art shows in the latter part of April include the annual All Student Juried Art Show with over 50 students participating with close to 100 art pieces. The work ranges from large sculpture to prints, drawings paintings, photography, graphic design, stained glass, and ceramics. The show is in the Main Gallery of Memorial Hall. Upstairs in Memorial Hall in Gallery 232 is the Advanced Art Studio art show, "Art, It's a Serious Problem." If features the work of Sandy Martinson, Jodi Birch, Christina Ferrero, Macee Kellner, H.E. Ahrens, Victoria Lawler, Krystal Gaar, Kit Watson. Michelle Tinglum, Doris Wickersham, Susi Schaefer, and Rob Heckman. Both shows run from April 22 to May 2. Gallery hours are 9 am - 4:30 pm.
