LINCOLN, Neb. -- Chancellor Stan Carpenter announced that Steve Hotovy, Lincoln, will join the staff in the Nebraska State College System Office. Hotovy will replace Ed Hoffman who has announced that he will retire at the end of June after spending 20 years with Chadron State College and eight years at the NSCS Office.

Hotovy will serve as vice chancellor for facilities and information technology in the NSCS Office. Hotovy joins the NSCS following 23 years working in Nebraska state government. He spent the last 10 years with the 309 Task Force for Building Renewal as an architect and administrator. Prior to that he spent 13 years with the State Building Division.

“Hotovy’s experience with Nebraska’s capital construction funding process is definitely a benefit to the NSCS. He has worked with people at the state colleges in the past and has demonstrated his ability to manage multiple projects while providing meaningful contributions to the work. I am pleased we are able to hire someone with Steve’s experience and skills,” Carpenter said.

Hotovy earned a bachelor of science and a master of architecture degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Hotovy and his wife, Lee, have six children and four grandchildren.

“The Nebraska State College System is doing great work educating and preparing future generations. The dedicated staff at all three colleges exemplify what’s best about our state. I am thrilled to be joining the state college team, and very grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity,” Hotovy said.
