New student registration events now 'Signing Days'

Published:

New Chadron State College students are encouraged to attend one of the on-campus Signing Day events April 7, April 18, June 6 and June 9.

At a Signing Day event, students will complete their fall schedules, meet advisors and receive important information about academics, student services, and student life at CSC.

START Advisor Danielle Lecher said, “We decided to change the name to Signing Day to give students the feeling that by registering for classes they were committing to being a part of the Chadron State family. They are ‘signing-up’ for classes as well as ‘signing-up’ to be a part of CSC—our teams, as a fan or athlete, our clubs, our classrooms, our campus--our lifestyle.”

Registration for the events is open and the registration form is online. New students, including incoming freshman and transfers, are encouraged to use their MyCSC accounts and click the "Ready To Register" link on their To Do lists to sign up. Advanced registration is required and the deadline for each registration is a week prior to each event.

Students should plan to send their ACT or SAT scores and any college transcripts to CSC prior to attending the Signing Day event as that information is required for enrollment. The START office will build a preliminary, partial schedule for students prior to the event, and then students will work with advisors to find appropriate courses to complete their schedules.

“We hope this makes the process more concrete and students feel more connected to CSC after attending a Signing Day event,” said Lecher.

Students will also sign up for New Student Orientation Aug. 14 through 16 on the registration form. All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation.
