Kupper joins the Nebraska State College System Office

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Chancellor Stan Carpenter announced Tuesday that Dr. Jodi Kupper, Lincoln, will join the staff in the Nebraska State College System Office as vice chancellor for academic planning and partnerships on July 1.

 “Jodi is well respected throughout the NSCS and brings a collaborative approach that works well with the evolving focus on accountability and transparency in higher education. She is an active leader in local, state and national education initiatives, including teacher accreditation, academic program development, and electronic portfolio assessment systems. I look forward to Jodi becoming a member of our system office staff,” said Carpenter.

Kupper has served as the dean of education at Peru State College since 2005. Prior to her arrival at Peru, Kupper worked at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. There, she served as a faculty member and director of Millikin’s school of education. Kupper has also taught high school in Columbus, Nebraska, and Farragut, Iowa.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in education with teaching endorsements in English and business from Wayne State College. She went on to earn her master’s in secondary education from the University of Nebraska–Omaha and her Ph.D. in administration and curriculum and instruction from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Kupper, said, “I'm very excited about the opportunity to transition to this new role within the Nebraska State College System.  Each of the three state colleges offers strong academic programs that provide engaging and meaningful opportunities for student learning. I look forward to focusing my efforts on the academic programs and partnerships that ultimately benefit the students who attend these institutions.”
