Hansen named vice president for enrollment and marketing
Jon Hansen has been hired to be the new vice president for enrollment and marketing at Chadron State College, President Randy Rhine announced Tuesday.
“I am pleased that Jon has agreed to join Chadron State College to support such a vital function for the campus,” Rhine said. “Jon has demonstrated his ability to lead the teams involved in enrollment management and marketing, as well as an ability to complete special assignments. Jon’s passion for Chadron State College and the success of its students is evident in his interactions with students, faculty and staff.”
Hansen, a native of DeLand, Florida, has been the interim vice president for enrollment and marketing at Chadron State College since February 2013. As the vice president for enrollment and marketing, Hansen directed the enrollment management, marketing, student services and student affairs teams. He also worked as the chief enrollment management officer, conducted a comprehensive review of CSC’s compliance with NCAA rules and worked collaboratively with the Chadron State Foundation.
Prior to Hansen’s tenure as interim vice president for enrollment and marketing, he was an independent contractor with Chadron State for two years. He recruited active duty and retired military service members, as well as ROTC students and incoming undergraduates from South Dakota.
“I believe that Chadron State College represents what our country needs from higher education: Quality, accessibility and affordability,” Hansen said. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve the students, faculty and staff of Chadron State College.”
Hansen, who also taught military science for CSC and three other colleges in the region, has over 22 years of executive leadership including 10 years of enrollment management, academic, and administrative experience at state colleges and universities in Illinois, South Dakota, and Nebraska. He is a retired lieutenant colonel from the Army Signal Corps who has led organizations from platoon to battalion level.
In addition to Hansen’s military experience, he has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stetson University in Florida and a master’s degree in telecommunication management from Webster University in Missouri.
